Is a MRI or CT scan better in detecting a brain cyst? - brain cyst more condition_symptoms

Years ago my son was diagnosed with a cyst of Brian. An MRI discovered the cyst. In the past year had a CT scan but the radiologist did not see the cyst. You now see a neurologist and ordered another MRI. I want to know if there is a possibility that the CT has not identified the cyst and also where an MRI is better to have a cyst in the brain, a CT scan could be?
